Martin has done something you can do only when millions of fans are salivating over any new scrap from the vast world you have created - released an excerpt of his next book in his A Song of Ice and Fire series. There's no release date from the man who kept us waiting more than five years for A Dance with Dragons, but there is casting news on the HBO series Game of Thrones based on his fantasy novels.
