Actor and comedian Zach Galifianakis’ significant talents have been noted by this blog before. And with the recent success of Todd Philips’ buddy flick The Hangover, Galifianakis is enjoying some much-deserved mainstream attention.
Yes, Zach G. is going to be many places—your TV, your computer, your local movie theatre—and soon. He has a new animated flick out this weekend (G-Force), a role in a new upcoming HBO show (Bored to Death), and there are rumours that a web-only series with Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) for funnyordie.com is in the works. I’m truly excited about that last one. If you’re unfamiliar with Tim and Eric I suggest you start Googling/YouTubing this weekend. You can also catch their show on The Comedy Network Tuesday nights at 10.30 pm.
Thanks to the cultural breadth of the Internet there’s even more Zach to go around. For your Friday afternoon viewing pleasure, an interview with Seth Galifianakis, Zach’s “identical twin brother.”
The clip, one of my favourite creations from the comedian, is excerpted from his comedy DVD, Zach Galifianakis Live at the Purple Onion.
