Joe the Plumber becomes Joe the "Journalist"?

Worried that Joe the Plumber will have too much time on his hands now that the election's over and the Obama family's transition into the White House is underway? Fear not! The right-wing Ohio ex-plumber (born Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher) who became a figurehead for American "average Joes" during the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign has a new gig: that of war correspondent.

Yup, that's right. In addition to the heady task of making promotional appearances for Joe the Plumber: Fighting For The American Dream (the book he "wrote" with Biblically-minded writer/publisher Thomas Tabback), Wurzelbacher has announced that he'll be headin' down to Israel to cover the conflict between Israeli and Palestinian forces for a conservative Web site. (Weirdly, the stridently right-wing site bears the cuddly official name PajamasTV, though it boasts categories like Conservatism 2.0 and the ominous-sounding Education Bias.)

This, let's recall, is the same man who was famously quoted as saying "a vote for Obama [was] a vote for the death of Israel." No doubt he'll bring the same sensitivity to his official war correspondence.
