Burn the Floor, the showcase of Latin and ballroom dance that includes contestants from So You Think You Can Dance, will include Vancouver and Toronto stops on its current world tour.

Burn the Floor will be at Toronto's Canon Theatre from April 22 through May 1, Mirvish productions announced on Tuesday. It is at Vancouver's Vogue Theatre from April 13 to 18.

The Broadway show finished its New York run in January, after more than 190 performances. It had been scheduled for a 12-week engagement but was held over.

The show features 20 international dancers to perform the Viennese waltz, the jive, tango, samba, mambo, quickstep and other ballroom dances.

The touring show will feature dance couples Anya Garnis and Pasha Kovalev, and Karen Hauer and Artem Chigvintsev from the U.S. version of So You Think You Can Dance.

TV dance reality shows have reawakened interest in ballroom and Latin dancing around the world.

The sizzling choreography has been created by Jason Gilkison, former world champion ballroom and Latin dancer, who also directs.

The show began its run in Britain before going to New York and will continue touring the world in 2010.
