Actress Andrea Martin, star of SCTV and My Big Fat Greek Wedding, will read aloud from Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang in a special presentation at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

The talented comedienne, who won two Emmys for her performances with comedy sketch troupe SCTV, will read the classic children's story Nov. 22 at the NAC Theatre.

She won a Tony for her stage performance in My Favorite Year and was nominated for Young Frankenstein and Candide. Martin appeared on the big screen in Wag the Dog and The Producers.

Jacob Two-Two, a story about the youngest in a family of five children who has to say things twice because people don't hear him the first time, is a favourite for family series readings.

Written by Montreal's Mordecai Richler, it has been adapted for stage reading by David S. Craig.

The NAC English theatre family series also includes Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol and Théâtre de l'OEil's Holy Cow.
