James Bond and Wolverine are heading to the Great White Way together, according to a report in the New York Post.

British actor Daniel Craig is set to make his Broadway debut and Hugh Jackman will make a triumphant return in A Steady Rain this autumn.

The two-character play is about Chicago policemen "whose lifelong friendship is put to the test when they become involved in a domestic dispute in a poor neighbourhood," according to the play website.

The play by Keith Huff debuted in Chicago and has had readings across the U.S.

Jackman, star of Wolverine, is a veteran of musical theatre and won a prestigious Tony Award in 2004 for his role in The Boy From Oz.

Craig, star of Casino Royale, has trod the boards in London's West End.

The play will be produced by Barbara Broccoli, who is also behind the James Bond films.
