Plummer, who will play Julius Caesar at the festival next season, read Jacob Two-Two, a classic children's story by Montreal's Mordecau Richler, on audiotape in 1988.

But this will be his first public reading of the story, about a little boy who says everything twice.

He will read a one-hour abridged version of the story of Jacob's ingenious escape from the Hooded Fang on Aug. 23.

Plummer appeared in Inherit the Wind on Broadway earlier this year and recently appeared on film in Emotional Arithmetic and The Lake House.

Proceeds from the event will fund a visit to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival by students who otherwise would not have the opportunity.
