CBC Radio 2 streams new Leonard Cohen track

This fall, Leonard Cohen confirmed he was finishing up his first new studio album since 2004 and, now, our friends over at CBC Radio 2 have scored a sneak peek: a single off the forthcoming release.

The track Show Me The Place is "a simple song and a sad song... but beautiful," says CBC Radio 2's Li Robbins.

During a trip to Spain in late October to receive the Prince of Asturias Prize in recognition of his songwriting and poetry, Canada's melancholy bard revealed that his new album -- Old Ideas -- was on the way.

Slated for release Jan. 31, 2012, it's being described as "the most overtly spiritual" of the 77-year-old singer-songwriter's albums and, listening to his hushed and familiar singing-speaking voice on Show Me The Place, we can't wait to hear the rest.
