The raunchy comedy Ted and Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained are neck and neck in nominations for the irreverent and often wacky MTV Movie Awards, which includes categories such as Best Shirtless Performance.

Both films are up for seven prizes including Movie of the Year, Best Fight, Best Kiss and Best Onscreen Duo.

Ted – starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis – centers on a man whose best friend is his teddy bear that miraculously came to life one day.  The potty-mouthed animated bear is voiced by the movie’s director, Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy).  Kunis is nominated in the Best Female Performance category

Meanwhile, the spaghetti Western-style Django scored nods for Best Villain for Leonardo DiCaprio and Best On-Screen Duo for DiCaprio as plantation owner Calvin Candie and Samuel L. Jackson as his slave, Stephen.  While Jamie Foxx, playing the central character, got a nod in Best Male Performance.

Silver Linings Playbook earned six nominations — with leads Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence nominated in for Best Kiss and Best Musical Performance — while The Dark Knight Rises collected five.

Fans can vote online for the winners in all categories, including the two newest ones: best shirtless performance and best musical moment.

Double nominee Rebel Wilson (Best Female Performance and Musical Performance in Pitch Perfect) will host the show on April 14th. The ceremony will also toast Will Ferrell, who will be the recipient of MTV's inaugural Comic Genius Award.
