It’s been more than a year since soaps All My Children and One Life to Live were dropped from U.S. network ABC, but both will soon come back to life online.
The Online Network plans to debut both long-running soaps April 29 with new 30-minute episodes available every weekday.
U.S.-based subscribers to Hulu will be able to see the shows and the shows will also be available on iTunes.
All My Children stars such as David Canary, Julia Barr, Jill Larsen, Cady McClain and Debbi Morgan return to the soap, which began production last month in Stamford, Conn.
One Life to Live begins production next week with favourites such as Erika Slezak, Robert S. Woods, Robin Strasser and Hillary B. Smith set to return.
Both shows will feature new cast members and storylines, with Agnes Nixon, the writer-producer who created both soaps 40 years ago serving as a creative consultant.
"I am so pleased that our dream of bringing these two series back to life is coming to fruition," she said.
New producer Prospect Park gained the licences for the shows in 2011, but had to sign guild agreements and hire production staff before the shows could go ahead.
ABC cancelled One Life to Live in January 2012 and All My Children in September 2011, saying the shows no longer had an audience large enough to justify producing them.
