British actor Rupert Grint, who recently walked the red carpet at the Berlin International Film Festival, will soon be taking the lead an unusual superhero in a new U.S. TV series.

The Harry Potter actor, 24, has landed his biggest role to date as the title character in Super Clyde, a new CBS comedy.

The Hollywood Reporter describes Clyde as a "well-meaning and sweet yet slightly neurotic guy who never feels like he really fits in.”

The character, who dreams of being a superhero, inherits a $100,000-a-month inheritance from his eccentric Uncle Bill and decides that the cash will be his secret super power and he will use it to reward the good-hearted. The pilot has been approved, but the series has yet to get a green light.

Grint appeared in Berlin Sunday at the world premiere of The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, in which he stars with Shia LaBeouf. The comedy is about a young traveller (LaBeouf) who falls in love with a troubled musician claimed by a violent crime boss. Grint portrays a drug-addled fellow traveller.

"The character was someone who's completely the opposite of Ron," he said, referencing Ron Weasley, the red-haired character he played in the Harry Potter film franchise.

The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman is vying for the Golden Bear, the top prize at the Berlin festival.

Grint’s next release will be Into the White, about a group of British and German pilots shot down in the cold, snowy wilderness of Norway. He also is set to star in the Beach Boys biopic The Drummer as well as the film CBGB, about the iconic New York venue and the early punk music scene.
