Lady Gaga has cancelled three upcoming shows, including one in Hamilton, Ont., because of severe inflammation of the joints.
In a release Tuesday, Lady Gaga said her doctor has ordered her to postpone the Born This Way Ball performances in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton.
“I am completely devastated and heartsick. I've been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night’s performance I could not walk,” the singer said in an online post.
“To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now,” she continued.
Lady Gaga’s website calls her condition synovitis, a painful inflammation of the joints that can result in deterioration of the joint if untreated.
The singer had two performances planned in Chicago Feb. 13 and 14 and one in Detroit Feb. 16 before going on to Hamilton on Feb. 17. Those shows have been cancelled.
After Feb. 17, the tour is expected to resume.
Ticketholders are asked to hold onto their tickets pending rescheduling of the cancelled concerts.
