An eclectic mix of Atlantic Canadian heavyweights and up-and-comers rounded out the list of artists nominated for the 2012 East Coast Music Awards, revealed Tuesday morning.

The Nova Scotian band Wintersleep leads the list of nominated artists with six nods for their album Hello Hum.

Fellow Nova Scotian Matt Mays followed close behind for his album Coyote.

Halifax pop singer Rich Aucoin, Acadian hip-hop group Radio Radio and singer-songwriters Rose Cousins and Tim Chaisson were all nominated for four awards.

East Coast darlings Joel Plaskett, The Trews and Jenn Grant were also recognized for their 2012 contributions.

Cape Breton's Raylene Rankin was nominated posthumously for her solo album All the Diamonds.

Fans can vote online in the categories of entertainer of the year and video of the year. Last year's surprise winner was Acadian band Blou.
