British boy band One Direction and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane have both made Barbara Walters’ annual list of “most fascinating” people.
The TV host plans a 90-minute special to air Dec. 12 in which she interviews the people she believes have had an impact this year.
One Direction, who has soared to the top of the charts worldwide a week after the release of their album Take Me Home, is a British boy band that emerged from Simon Cowell’s U.K. talent show The X Factor.
MacFarlane, a producer, writer and voice actor, hosted Saturday Night Live earlier this year as well as directing and producing the movie, Ted.
Also on Walters’ list:
- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie: for his handling of Superstorm Sandy.
- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton: for her involvement in the Middle East and Africa.
- Writer, actor and director Ben Affleck.
- E.L. James, author of the bestselling trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey.
- Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas.
Walters didn’t announce her entire roster – there are three names still to come before the special in December.
