It was a melding of music and media as Lady Gaga spent hours with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

The singer – known for her outrageous antics and costumes – was seen leaving the embassy in the Knightsbridge district dressed in black and sporting a pointy hat.

According to The Telegraph newspaper in the U.K., she spent five hours with him on Monday evening and had a meal, leaving around midnight.

Gaga, whose hits include Born This Way, Poker Face and Alejandro, had been promoting her new perfume just next door at Harrods.

She posted a picture of herself with Assange, who was only wearing a white t-shirt, on her 'Little Monsters' fan website.

The performer may have been responding to a tweet from rapper M.I.A., who suggested that Gaga should visit Assange in his sanctuary. “I’ll bring tea and cake,” she posted.

An embassy spokeswoman confirmed to the paper that the American singer had been inside but said she didn't know if M.I.A. also joined them.

The WikiLeaks founder is wanted in Sweden over alleged sex attacks on two women and has been holed up at the embassy since June, claiming asylum.

Assange sought shelter at the embassy after exhausting all routes of appeal in the U.K. to avoid being sent to Sweden. In August, he made his first appearance since taking refuge. Standing at a window, he called for an end to the "witch-hunt" against his secret-spilling website.

Assange fears he could be extradited to the U.S. if he goes to Sweden to face the charges.

The 41-year-old Australian citizen and his supporters allege that the case against him is politically motivated. The U.S. government has unofficially declared Assange to be an enemy of the state and if tried in an American court, he could face the death penalty for compromising U.S. national security.

Assange has spent more than 100 days in the embassy’s small backroom. He only has a small kitchenette to cook his meals.
