Chart-topping singer Adele appeared to confirm on Monday a long-rumoured gig: that she is singing the theme song for the latest James Bond film, Skyfall.
Via her Twitter account, the British singer shared a photo of her hand resting on a packet of theme music for the upcoming film, set for release this fall and once again starring Daniel Craig as the famed, Ian Fleming-created spy Bond (code name 007).
The package of music notes both Adele's name (A. Adkins) as well as that of producer Paul Epworth, who co-wrote and produced her massive hit Rolling in the Deep.
In early September, the 24-year-old singer was seen at Abbey Road studios in London, where the Skyfall soundtrack is being created. Last year, she hinted that she had landed the coveted gig during an appearance with British TV host Jonathan Ross.
Adele follows in the footsteps of recent Bond musical collaborators such as Jack White and Alicia Keys, Chris Cornell, Madonna and Sheryl Crow. Other pop musicians who have recorded tracks for Bond films include Paul McCartney, Shirley Bassey, Carly Simon, Duran Duran, Tom Jones, Gladys Knight and A-Ha.
After an overwhelming year in which she was dubbed the year's top musical artist and suffered serious vocal issues that required surgery, Adele kicked off 2012 by winning six Grammy Awards in February. Since then, she has also announced she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki.
Skyfall premieres in the U.K. on Oct. 26 and hits cinemas in North America on Nov. 9.
