A film about Led Zeppelin’s celebrated 2007 reunion will be released on the big screen this October, before heading to stores as a DVD and CD.

Celebration Day records the two-hour performance the British band did on the main stage of London’s O2 arena at a tribute to long-time friend and founder of Atlantic Records, Ahmet Ertegun.

About 18,000 ticket-holders saw the concert live, but it was filmed in HD and becomes a concert film directed by Dick Carruthers.

John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, son of their late drummer, John Bonham in the performance, which included hits such as Dazed And Confused, Stairway To Heaven, The Song Remains The Same and Whole Lotta Love. It was their first full-scale concert since Bonham's death in 1980.

The news comes a day after the surviving members of Led Zeppelin were announced as winners of the Kennedy Center Honors in the U.S.

Celebration Day will be played on Cineplex screens across Canada on Oct. 17 and Oct. 25. The theatrical release will be played across 1,500 screens around the world.

It also will be available in home video and audio formats, beginning Nov. 19.
