Despite his musical icon status, reggae's Jimmy Cliff isn't prepared to rest on his laurels.

The 64-year-old singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer — who rose to prominence in 1960s-era Jamaica and, along with Bob Marley, helped elevate reggae to the world stage — is back with his new album Rebirth.

A longtime fan of musical collaborations, he teamed up with Rancid punk rocker, songwriter and producer Tim Armstrong to create Rebirth, which has earned acclaim, including from music industry bible Rolling Stone magazine.

Cliff, currently on tour with Rebirth, talked to Q guest host Stephen Quinn about sounding ageless, the connection between reggae and punk and continuing to aspire to even greater heights.
