World famous fiddler Ashley MacIsaac is moving away from Windsor, Ont.

MacIsaac, who is originally from Cape Breton, has called the Rose City home for the last three years.

He told CBC News he's moving to Cobourg, Ont. — for love.

"What's the word? It's not collaborate. You're married. It's compromise. I forgot that I'm supposed to do that. So, I have to move to where my partner's from," MacIsaac said. "So I'm starting to get the kick in the rear end — 'gotta go! gotta go!'

"It doesn't mean I won't come back but I'm a musician. I've travelled a lot. I've enjoyed different places. I've lived and I can say, without a doubt, Windsor has been top of the list."

MacIsaac will be in concert June 9 in Windsor as part of Carrousel by the River.

MacIsaac made headlines in November when he crashed a PETA protest in Windsor.

The musician arrived wearing a fur coat and carrying a sign that read "I support the Canadian Seal Hunt."
