How about a sequel to The Artist starring Charlie Sheen?

The actor says he wouldn't hesitate for one minute if the project was proposed to him.

At least, that's what he told a Montreal radio personality who was pretending to be the film's award-winning actor Jean Dujardin.

The notorious comedy duo known as the Masked Avengers (Justiciers Masques) called up Sheen two weeks after the Oscars and asked him if he would like to be in a sequel.

The actor congratulated "Dujardin" on his Oscar win and said he'd love to work with him.

The Montreal pranksters have engaged in stunts involving Bill Gates, Britney Spears, Paul McCartney and, perhaps most famously, Sarah Palin during the 2008 U.S. election.

This latest one involves Sheen, whose well-documented substance abuse issues and peculiar outbursts have cast a shadow over a once-bright acting career.

Sheen was fired last year from Two and a Half Men, at the time the highest paid gig on TV, and in the phone call appeared eager for more work with the prestigious French actor.

"Dujardin" told Sheen the follow-up to The Artist would be a comedy and the proceeds would go to a good cause.

Speaking in a thick accent and at times switching to French, he told Sheen the money would be donated to a foundation against dictators, including "(Premier) Jean Charest in Quebec, of course."

Money would also be donated to the striking students in Quebec.

Sheen replied he couldn't understand what was said, but that he was very interested in working with "Dujardin," even if it meant travelling to Paris.

"Thank you for considering me, that's very sweet," he said.

The conversation ended without the hoax being revealed.

Marc-Antoine Audette, one half of the Masked Avengers, said the prank seemed like a good fit.

"We thought, 'Why not take the identity of Jean Dujardin, who just won an Oscar, who is one of the hottest guys in Hollywood right now, and see how Charlie Sheen would react," said Audette, who pretended to be Dujardin in the phone call.
