Paul McCartney to play Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert

Paul McCartney will headline a star-studded musical tribute marking Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee in June.
The former Beatle, who released a new album of standards entitled Kisses On The Bottom on Tuesday, will join prestigious company onstage, with Elton John, Annie Lennox, Lang Lang and Shirley Bassey among the acts joining him on the lineup.
Gary Barlow, the frontman of British singing troupe Take That, is organizing the June 4 concert, which will be held in front of Buckingham Palace.

"The Diamond Jubilee concert will celebrate the 60 years of the Queen's reign with an amazing lineup of world class artists coming together to play at one of the biggest and most exciting live music shows in recent years," Barlow said on Tuesday.
"With Buckingham Palace as a backdrop, it's going to be a fantastic event which transcends multiple decades of music."
According to Barlow, Princes William and Harry helped pick the artists on the bill, which also includes Tom Jones, Jessie J, Cliff Richard, boy band JLS, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and ska band Madness.
More recording artists will be announced in the coming weeks. Barlow said he hopes to add musicians from beyond the U.K. and the Commonwealth nations, as well as to incorporate ballet and stage musicals into the show.
The concert will be broadcast on radio and television.
Thousands of guests are expected for the concert, with 10,000 free tickets to be awarded through a random, online ballot system running Tuesday through March 2. Concert ticket holders will also gain access to a special picnic in the Buckingham Palace Garden that day.
