Susan Boyle, seen in her Dec. 2009 TV special, says she hopes to give another unknown a boost with her online video search for a duet partner. (Joel Anderson/talkbackThames/TV Guide Network) A YouTube video of Susan Boyle's Britain's Got Talent debut made her an online singing sensation worldwide, and now she's looking to give another unknown singer a chance at stardom.
Boyle has launched "Susan's Search" — an international, online campaign to find an unknown singer to join her in a duet for her upcoming second album, The Gift.
"The past year has been a wonderful gift and I wanted to be able to pass that gift on," she said in a statement posted Friday on her website.
"I decided that I wanted to give someone the opportunity that I had, a way onto the world stage, someone who has talent and just needs a break."
Hopefuls are being asked to upload videos of themselves singing the holiday carol Silent Night to Boyle's dedicated YouTube channel.
Submissions will be accepted until July 16, with a winner to be announced on July 26.
Boyle was an amateur Scottish singer when she auditioned for the U.K. TV talent search Britain's Got Talent in 2009.
She astounded the judges and viewers with her performance of the ballad I Dreamed a Dream from the hit musical Les Misérables — footage of which was quickly uploaded to YouTube by the show's producers and eventually viewed more than 120 million times.
Though she ultimately didn't win the TV contest, the music sensation subsequently embarked on a host of appearances around the U.S. and U.K.
She quickly released a debut album (also called I Dreamed a Dream ) that topped the charts in several countries and sold more than eight million copies worldwide, making it 2009's top seller.

FILM REVIEW: Men in Black 3 by Eli Glasner May. 25, 2012 11:40 AM Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are back in the action sequel Men in Black 3, a third instalment of a series now 15 years old. Though new addition Josh Brolin manages some amazing mimicry as a younger version of Jones, the story doesn't measure up to the weird and wonderful charms of the original, says film reviewer Eli Glasner.
