Abbotsford, B.C. band You Say Party has dropped the "We Say Die" from their name after the death of drummer Devon Clifford.

The dance rockers announced the change on their website Tuesday, saying they have spent several months re-evaluating their future since Clifford's death.

Clifford died of a massive brain hemorrhage after collapsing on stage in April.

"Out of respect for Devon and the evolution of life, today we announce that we will no longer be known as You Say Party! We Say Die! but instead as simply You Say Party," the band said in a statement.

But the band has decided to continue, they said.

"Devon's parents have encouraged us to continue on and given us their blessing," the statement said. "It is their opinion (as well as ours) that Devon would never have wanted his death to end the band. He would have wanted us to continue on."

Founding member Krista Loewen will leave the band.

Robert Andow and Bobby Siadat of Vancouver band Gang Violence will play keyboards and drums in the new band lineup. Vocalist Becky Ninkovic, guitarist Derek Adam and Stephen O'Shea on bass remain with the band. A European tour cancelled after Clifford's death is being rescheduled for this fall.

You Say Party earned a nomination for the Polaris Music Prize last week for its 2009 album XXXX.
