Disneyland is resuscitating a science-fiction film, Captain EO, that the late Michael Jackson made more than 23 years ago.

The 17-minute film starred the performer as a singing and dancing intergalactic commander.

Directed by George Lucas, the film was the star attraction when it debuted at the Anaheim, Calif., theme park in 1986.

The Tomorrowland exhibit ran for more than 10 years.

Captain EO featured Jackson as the leader of a ragtag team of aliens and robots as they fought an evil queen, played by Angelica Huston.

The announcement comes just as a company organizing a massive Jackson tribute concert in London said it was shutting down operations.

Vienna-based World Awards Media GmbH is in liquidation. The company's chief promoter, Georg Kindel, said he has split with Christian Baha, majority owner of World Awards Media — the main sponsor of the Jackson concert.

Kindel says he's unsure whether Jermaine Jackson will continue with plans for the concert, which was slated for June 2010.

The King of Pop died a drug-induced death June 25 in Los Angeles at age 50 as he was about to embark on a comeback attempt with a series of sold-out concerts in London.
