U.S. network ABC has ditched two more appearances by Adam Lambert, a week after cancelling the glam-rocker's Good Morning America gig following his racy American Music Awards performance.

On Wednesday, Lambert said he has been told not to turn up for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Dec. 17 and for the New Year's Rockin' Eve.

ABC, facing complaints about Lambert's AMA performance, during which he kissed a male keyboardist and simulated oral sex, issued a statement saying it "decided not to move forward" with the singer's appearance on Kimmel's show.

The talent lineup for the New Year's Eve special has not yet been announced, ABC said.

Lambert has been making the promotional rounds for his new album For Your Entertainment, which debuted at No. 3 on Billboard's top 200 list this week.

Named the American Idol runner-up earlier this year, he announced in a Rolling Stone cover story that he's gay after the reality TV competition ended, telling the magazine "it's time to take risks."

Falling short of apologizing, Lambert has acknowledged he got carried away on the AMAs on Nov. 22, and that his performance differed from rehearsals.

ABC, which is affiliated with Disney /ABC Television Group, said it now plans to vet live performances and contractually obligate artists to match their stage shows to their rehearsals.

"We certainly don't want to suppress artistry at any level, but we also have to be very cognizant of who our audience is," president Anne Sweeney said in a statement.

Lambert, a Los Angeles resident, will still appear on NBC's The Jay Leno Show on Dec 21 and will appear as one of Barbara Walters's Most Fascinating People of 2009 special on ABC.
