Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, is among the performers slated for the upcoming fundraiser for the Motown Historical Museum. (Henny Ray Abrams/Associated Press) American music icons Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder are among the highlights of the lineup for an upcoming concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Motown record label.
Franklin, Wonder, Otis Williams and The Temptations will take the stage for the Motown Historical Museum's annual gala on Nov. 21 in Detroit.
The yearly event is a fundraiser for the non-profit museum, which is located in the record label's original headquarters.
The evening will include tributes for a host of Motown figures, including label founder Berry Gordy Jr., Michael Jackson and Four Tops vocalist Levi Stubbs, who died in October 2008.
The high-profile concert is part of a planned weekend of festivities marking Motown's half-century anniversary, celebrations for which began in January.
