CBC announced a few changes to its daytime slate Thursday, including moving popular host Tom Allen strictly to the afternoon.
Allen will be focusing all his attention on Shift, the afternoon program that he has been hosting along with Radio 2 Morning.
Shift, which plays a range of classical music to more contemporary genres, will also be expanded by an hour: from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Allen's previous credits include hosting Radio 2's former a.m. show Music and Company for 10 years, as well as hosting CBC Radio One's Fresh Air.
The expansion of Shift means that classical music show Tempo, hosted by working mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah, will now air 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bob Mackowycz, a familiar voice who has regularly filled in for Allen, will serve as the new host of Radio 2 Morning.
The changes will take effect Monday.
