Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin and Metallica are just a few of the iconic members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame set to help the venue celebrate its anniversary this fall.

The famed museum announced on Wednesday plans for two star-studded anniversary concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden in October.

Billed by organizers as a celebration of its 25th anniversary, the performers will span a range of musical genres. The inductees will pay tribute to six decades of rock and roll.

Confirmed so far for the Oct. 29 show are:

  • Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
  • Simon and Garfunkel.
  • Stevie Wonder.
  • Crosby, Stills, Nash and Friends.

Confirmed acts set to take the stage for the Oct. 30 show include:

  • Aretha Franklin.
  • Eric Clapton.
  • Metallica.
  • U2.

Further lineup additions will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event and organizers have also promised surprise guest appearances and memorable musical collaborations.

Proceeds from the concerts will go toward a permanent endowment fund for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and the actual museum in Cleveland.
