The unknown singer who captured the world's attention earlier this spring on the television show Britain's Got Talent returned to the stage in Birmingham, England, on Friday for the first time since being treated for exhaustion in a London clinic.

Susan Boyle appeared on the first night of a British tour featuring contestants from the reality television show.

The 48-year-old sang the two show tunes that she performed on Britain's Got TalentI Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables and Memory from Cats.

Boyle was introduced by Britain's Got More Talent presenter Stephen Mulhern, who described her as being famous all over the world.

"She's so famous," he added, "even her pet cat Pebbles is famous."

BBC News reported that Boyle appeared subdued on stage but blew a kiss to her screaming fans. She received a standing ovation after her performance.

On Saturday, she performed in the tour's two shows in Sheffield, but pulled out of two Sunday performances in Manchester, pleading fatigue.

She has said she will appear in only a handful of the tour's 23 scheduled venues throughout Britain in order to conserve her voice for her debut album.

The tour ends on July 5 in Bournemouth.

During the eight-week Britain's Got Talent competition, the Scottish church volunteer shot to global fame after a video of her first audition garnered millions of views on YouTube.

On May 30, she finished second to Diversity, a street dance group from Essex. She suffered an anxiety attack backstage after her loss and was treated for five days in London's Priory Clinic.
