Musician Travis Barker has been released from a Los Angeles burn centre where he had been receiving treatment after surviving a fiery plane crash.

The former Blink-182 drummer was allowed to leave the Grossman Burn Centre on Friday, where he was being treated for second- and third-degree burns since Sept. 29.

"I can't wait to get out of here and be home with the babes," Barker blogged from his bed only the day before his release. Barker is referring to his two children.

"The doctors say I'm healing up quickly."

Officials at the centre say 32-year-old rocker will continue his treatment at home and is expected to fully recover over the next few months.

Barker and DJ Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, survived a crash of their jet on Sept. 19 in South Carolina. Four others, including the pilot and co-pilot, as well as Barker's security man died.

Barker's ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, recently revealed the musician had about seven skin grafts and underwent multiple surgeries.

DJ AM was released from hospital on Sept. 26 and was well enough to perform at an event in Hollywood on Wednesday evening.

Barker and DJ AM had just played a free concert the evening of Sept. 19 in Columbia, S.C. when they boarded a Learjet that was supposed to take them back to California.

Instead, the plane hurtled off the runway, crashed through a fence and crossed a five-lane highway. It came to rest on an embankment where it was engulfed in flames.

An investigation by the National Transportation and Safety Board is still ongoing.
