Neil Young has teamed up with two of alternative music's biggest bands — Death Cab for Cutie and Wilco — for his North American tour this fall.

The tour, beginning Oct. 14, has eight Canadian dates scheduled so far, according to a release from Live Nation on Tuesday.

Death Cab for Cutie will open for the Canadian rocker at dates Oct. 16 in Winnipeg, Oct. 18 in Regina, Oct. 19 in Calgary and Oct. 22 in Vancouver.

Chicago-based Wilco will join the tour Nov. 29 in Halifax, and then play Dec. 1 in Montreal, Dec. 2 in Ottawa and Dec. 4 in Toronto.

The concerts will feature Young with the same band that backed him on a recent European tour — Ben Keith, Rick Rosas, Chad Cromwell, Anthony Crawford and Pegi Young.

Los Angeles trio Everest will play all concerts.

The tour begins Oct. 14 in Minneapolis and will end Dec. 15 in New York, according to a Tuesday statement from Live Nation.
