The 42-year-old singer, set to tackle her first tour in seven years, will perform across North America beginning Sept. 10 in Vancouver, she revealed in an appearance Monday on the television talk show Ellen.

Jackson's event promoter, Live Nation, has so far only announced a few dates for her Rock Witchu tour, including concerts set for New York and Washington. A full itinerary is still pending.

However, the singer is eyeing some travel abroad.

"It's been a while, so I really want to make my rounds," she said in an interview. "I haven't been to Australia in a very long time; I can't wait to go there. There are a lot of places where I really want to stop off at, and that's the idea, that's the goal with this tour."

Jackson scored success during her last concert swings — the All for You tour (2001-02) and the Velvet Rope tour (1998-99). However, since the singer's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" while performing with Justin Timberlake at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, she has fared poorly on the music charts.

She released her latest album, Discipline, in March.

"I was supposed to go on tour with the last album," Jackson revealed, referring to her 2006 effort, 20 Y.O.

However, she said her record label wanted to hold off until she released her latest CD.

"I can't wait," she told host Ellen DeGeneres.
