CRMA nominees are drawn from artists who have hit the Canadian charts for the first time, and who have achieved top airplay in different formats based on radio "spins" as recorded by Nielson Broadcast Data Systems in 2007.

The winners are chosen by a group of program directors and on-air personalities who belong to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters.

Estrada and Toronto vocalist McNeil each has two nominations, as do Vancouver band State of Shock, Mission, B.C., alternative rockers Faber Drive and Millbrook, Ont., singer-songwriter Serena Ryder

State of Shock's debut single Money Honey from the 2007 album Life, Love and Lies is up for three awards in rock, solo and adult contemporary categories.

It is competing in the rock category with Faber Drive , Tokyo Police Club of Newmarket, Ont., Toronto's Ill Scarlet and Vancouver's Pride Tiger.

Fans also have a chance to vote for their favourite Canadian artist, with a roster of big-name stars nominated for the Fans' Choice award.

They are Avril Lavigne, Finger Eleven, Nelly Furtado, Nickelback and Three Days Grace.

Alanis Morissette will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony, scheduled for Feb. 2008, as part of Canadian Music Week.

Estrada, Faber Drive, Hayley Sales, Jessie Farrell, State of Shock and McNeil  are scheduled to perform with Rap/R&B singer Jully Black as host.

Two additional non-voting awards will also be presented at this year's ceremony: the FACTOR Breakthrough Award for top airplay for a new FACTOR supported artist, and The Chart Topper Award for top overall airplay.
