A ballet featuring music from the rock band the White Stripes debuted Friday night at London's Royal Opera House.

Chroma features three White Stripes arrangements: Aluminum, The Hardest Button to Button and top 10 hit Blue Orchid.

The White Stripes music comes from British composer Joby Talbot's album Aluminum, released in November. It contains orchestral arrangements of 10 of the band’s songs.

Talbot said he got the blessing of the Jack and Meg White, members of the White Stripes.

"I met Jack and he was incredibly nice about it. He said he and Meg both loved it," Talbot told the BBC.

Talbot, once a member of indie band The Divine Comedy, called it "beautiful, mesmeric chill-out" music. He now composes for television and film.

Talbot said choreographer Wayne McGregor came up with the idea of pairing the music with ballet.

"Wayne really has done an incredible job, the dancing is absolutely amazing."

The Royal Ballet has used modern music for its ballets, including the songs of The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix's music.

The company's current performance of three works, which includes The Four Temperaments and Danse A Grande Vitesse, ends Nov. 29.
