While the entertainment world was abuzz over the Saturday nuptials of Grammy-winning country singer Carrie Underwood and Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, another high-profile couple were also getting hitched.

Actors John Krasinski (The Office) and Emily Blunt (The Young Victoria, The Devil Wears Prada ) managed to keep their wedding plans under wraps and got married on Saturday as well.

"We can confirm that John and Emily were married on Saturday in a private ceremony," said a statement sent to the TV show Access Hollywood by Krasinski's camp.

The actors were spotted on a yacht in Lake Como, Italy, with George Clooney earlier on Saturday. Krasinski and Clooney co-starred in the 2008 movie Leatherheads.

The couple tied the knot in front of friends and family at the Villa D'este in Como.

The pair began dating in November 2008 and 10 months later, Krasinski proposed to the British actress in Los Angeles.

This marks a second wedding for The Office crew this month. Jenna Fischer, who plays Krasinski's on-screen love Pam, got hitched last weekend to screenwriter Lee Kirk.

Entire hotel booked

Across the ocean, Underwood and Fisher said their "I dos" in front of some 400 guests at the Reynolds Plantation resort in Greensboro, Ga.

"We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!" the newlyweds told People magazine in a statement.

The pair had booked all of the 251 rooms at the Ritz-Carleton in Greensboro.

The couple's highly anticipated wedding plans were well-known, headlining celebrity magazines and entertainment shows for several weeks.

Underwood, 27, rose to fame after winning the fourth season of American Idol. Fisher, 30, is a forward for the Senators.

The couple will keep homes in Peterborough, Ont., and Nashville.
