Rosie O'Donnell is moving back into the talk show game with a new show to start this fall on satellite radio.

O'Donnell, who had a popular daytime show on TV before her short-lived stint on The View in 2006 and 2007, has signed a deal with Sirius XM.

The new show, called Rosie Radio, will air two hours a day, and O'Donnell will run it out of a studio being added to her New York home.

O'Donnell, who has four kids with partner Kelli Carpenter, says she's looking forward to returning to the spotlight after a quiet period since her split with The View.

"I think it'll be good for me," she said. "I've been lucky. I've had seven years of early retirement. All my kids are in school now, so all day long I have nothing to do. This was the first year that they were all in school all day, and I found myself very bored. I was saying to Kelli, we either need to get another kid or I'll have to go back to work."

A comic actress and notoriously outspoken commentator, O'Donnell plans to discuss news and entertainment, as well as chatting with occasional guests.

Sirius XM approached her after she appeared on Howard Stern's satellite radio show recently.

The satellite radio giant is hoping the signing of a new celebrity host will signal its financial health has improved.
