British entertainer Boy George has pleaded not guilty to accusations he falsely imprisoned a man at his London home and will return to court for a trial this fall.

The former lead singer of 1980s-era pop group Culture Club issued his plea in a London courtroom on Thursday.

Model Audun Carlsen has accused the performer — whose real name is George O'Dowd — of handcuffing him to a wall in his east London flat. The alleged incident occurred in April 2007. At the time, George was arrested and then released.

George is currently free on bail and scheduled to return for a trial in November.

The British singer and dance music DJ has in the past couple of years made more headlines for his personal life rather than for his creative work.

He was arrested and subsequently convicted of falsely reporting a burglary at his Manhattan apartment in 2005, when police sent to investigate the incident found cocaine on the premises. His sentence included a week of court-ordered community service.

Though best known as the voice behind Culture Club hits like Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, his solo endeavours have included record producing, launching a clothing line, writing his memoirs and creating the semi-biographical stage musical Taboo.
