Assault charges against Skating with Celebrities star Kristy Swanson have been dropped, according to the Crown Attorney's office in Kingston, Ont.

The former star of the film version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was charged following an altercation in Ontario with the ex-wife of her boyfriend and skating partner, Canadian Olympic skating medallist Lloyd Eisler.

"I am thrilled and excited that the charge has been dropped," Swanson said in a statement. "This never should have happened and our family can move on."

Swanson, 37, was arrested in June in Kingston after an incident during a visit Eisler made to see his two young children.

She claimed Marcia O'Brien, Eisler's former wife, attacked her, but O'Brien was not charged.

The Ontario Court of Justice withdrew Swanson's assault charge at the request of the Crown.

Eisler, 44, a former world champion pairs skater, met Swanson last year on the Fox reality TV show.

He eventually left his pregnant wife and now has a baby boy with Swanson.
