In the past few years, actor Liam Neeson has remade himself into an action hero, with films such as Taken and the A-Team remake, in addition to his godly turns voicing Aslan in the Chronicles of Narnia films and playing Zeus in the revamped Clash of the Titans.

In Unknown, which opens Friday, he portrays a biotech scientist who awakens from a coma to discover his wife doesn't recognize him and his identity assumed by another man.

As CBC reviewer Eli Glasner discovers, Unknown's script is a weak rehash of other recent spy fare and lacks the sense of urgency needed to make all the many twists plausible(despite the performance of actor Bruno Ganz).
