As many as 20 doctors have reportedly been handed subpoenas in connection with the death of Canadian actor Corey Haim.

The star of Lost Boys, Lucas and the reality show The Two Coreys died in Los Angeles earlier this month, collapsing in his apartment in the arms of his mother.

While the exact cause of death is still unknown, California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown revealed the Toronto-born actor had several illegal prescriptions for drugs, including the painkiller OxyContin.

Haim was linked to a prescription drug ring, which is under investigation by the attorney general's office.

The 38-year-old performer, who had battled drug addiction most of his life, had flu-like symptoms days before his death on March 10.

According to reports coming out of California, the doctors are reportedly from Los Angeles, Orange County and Ventura County.

Celebrity gossip site TMZ reports the subpoenas, from the L.A. County Coroner's Office, were sent out Wednesday.
