British screenwriter Peter Morgan, whose work includes Frost-Nixon, The Last King of Scotland and The Queen, will write the next James Bond adventure.

Morgan will co-author the 23rd instalment in the series with veteran Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, EON Production's Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the film's producers, announced in a press release Friday.

Daniel Craig will return as Ian Fleming's super spy, his third time in the part.

Purvis and Wade collaborated on four Bond films: Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough.

Morgan won a Golden Globe in 2007 for The Queen, which was also nominated for an Academy Award for best screenplay.

He is currently making his directorial debut with The Special Relationship, which he also wrote, about former British prime minister Tony Blair's turbulent relationship with former U.S. president Bill Clinton.

He'll start work on the Bond script when he has completed The Special Relationship for HBO.

The new Bond film does not yet have a title or a director.
