Another big screen version of Sex and the City, with its unabashed celebration of fashion and Manolo Blahnik stilettos, is slated for release in 2010.

Warner Bros. studio and its subsidiary New Line have confirmed the ladies of Sex and the City will be back in theatres in May next year.

The film will be the second based on the popular TV series starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, who are all slated to return.

Last year's first film adaptation was a blockbuster, raking in more than $400 million US worldwide.

There is no word yet on the plot or whether actor Christopher Noth, a.k.a. Mr Big, has signed on for the sequel.

The first outing circled around writer Carrie Bradshaw's nuptials with Mr. Big.

Michael Patrick King, who wrote and directed the movie, will be back for the sequel.
