The cowardly lion outfit worn by actor Bert Lahr in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz is up for auction on eBay.

The costume, made of real lion pelts, is part of a sale of Hollywood artifacts hosted by U.S.-based auction firm Profiles in History scheduled for Dec. 14-15.

The sale also includes Elvis Presley's wedding ring from his 1967 marriage to Priscilla and Fred Astaire's sailor suit from Follow the Fleet.

The cowardly lion costume, mounted on a stand, is expected to sell for $400,000 to $600,000 US.

The Wizard of Oz scarecrow outfit is currently housed in the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.

Star Wars figures could sell for about $150,000 US, Profiles in History estimates.
