Pop-punk rock trio Courage My Love has crafted a fake reality show about sibling band members Mercedes and Phoenix Arn-Horn to draw attention to the release of the band’s upcoming new album.

The Kitchener, Ont., trio hopes the online video will help them stand out in a crowded indie music scene.

The twin sisters share vocals, while Mercedes plays guitar and Phoenix is on drums. Brandon Lockwood is their bass player. The group released its first album For Now in 2011.

Last year, Courage My Love toured Japan before travelling across Atlantic Canada as a supporting act for Faber Drive. Those appearances have added to a growing fanbase.

Still, the twins are aware of the power of social media. Their "fake" reality show includes scenes of the pair writing songs and fighting like sisters, as they face the hurdles of the music business.

"We love watching really bad TV so we thought it might be kind of fun," Phoenix told CBC’s Jelena Adzic.

Courage My Love's new album Becoming is released Tuesday.
