A P.E.I. classic has made Indigo's list of Top Ten "Life-Changing Books" for the first decade of the millennium.

The bookseller's survey placed Anne of Green Gables in the fourth spot on the list, the highest ranked Canadian book. It was also the oldest book on the list apart from The Bible, which was ranked first.

Lisa Huie, manager of public relations for Indigo, said it is amazing how L. M. Montgomery's 1908 novel has remained relevant to readers.

"Anne has, for generations, connected with readers and I think that she continues to engage with book lovers across the country," said Huie.
