Blake Lively announced she's expecting with her Vancouver-born husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, in a cryptic posting Monday on her lifestyle website, Preserve.us.
In an editorial spread honouring "family" the 27-year-old former Gossip Girl actress included a photo of herself in a spread of other pregnant-looking models, giving fans a first look at her growing belly.
The actress didn't reveal specifics. But the photo was accompanied by a message from the lifestyle site's editorial team.
"Preserve at its core is about family. 'Family' is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on," read the statement.
"We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don't have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all—to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family."
The pregnancy announcement is the first for Lively and Reynolds who married two years ago this September. They met on the set of the 2010 action movie Green Lantern.
Both stars have been vocal about their desire to have children.
The couple made headlines for their surprise visit to a pediatric unit in a hospital in Sudbury, Ont. in February 2013.
Relatives shared images of Lively and Reynolds holding tiny babies on Facebook.
Reynolds, 37, whose credits include The Change-Up, Buried and Two Guys and a Girl, was previously married to Scarlett Johansson, but they divorced in 2010 after two years of marriage.
He was also engaged to Canadian singer Alanis Morissette from 2004 to 2007.
