Three iconic Canadian musicians from three different genres of music — Colin James, Ben Heppner and Randy Bachman — are hosting new web radio stations, launched today by CBC Music.
Six-time Juno winner James plays blues, rock, pop and swing, but is best known as a bluesman. Colin James’s Blues will focus on contemporary and urban blues, from the Mississippi Delta to Southside Chicago, as well as exploring the Canadian blues scene.
Opera star Ben Heppner is known as one of the finest operatic tenors in the world. Recently tapped as the new host of CBC Radio 2’s long-running program Saturday Afternoon at the Opera, Heppner will be behind the online stream Heppner’s Opera Gems, where he will present some of the greatest arias, overtures and choruses.
One of Canada’s most famous rock ‘n’ roll guitarists, Randy Bachman is best known for his music in The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive. With Bachman’s Guitarchives he explores guitar music from various genres, including jazz and classical.
