The Art Gallery of Ontario plans to remain closed during the G20 summit in Toronto, even though it's outside the two security zones.
The AGO is located north of the restricted areas, on Dundas Street just west of University Avenue. However, the gallery says it's expecting traffic disruptions and road closures because of the summit in the city's downtown core.
"Positive visitor experience is paramount for the AGO," director Matthew Teitelbaum said in a release. "We simply do not want to put unnecessary stress on our public, staff or volunteers trying to navigate in and out of the downtown core that weekend."
The AGO will close to the public early at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 25 the day before world leaders hold two days of talks at the Metro Convention Centre.
The gallery will not reopen until Tuesday, June 29. It's normally closed on Mondays.
