British author Alexander McCall Smith never tires of returning to the beloved characters of his bestselling series The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.
The Rhodesian-born Smith is back with The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon, a 14th volume in the popular collection.
"The characters are there when I go back every year to write about them. It's like having a conversation with an old friend," he told CBC News.
In the attached video, Smith talks to CBC's Jelena Adzic about what's new with Mma Precious Ramotswe and her circle, his enduring connection to Botswana and why he prefers his mysteries to unspool in the tea room rather than the morgue.
