District Profile:A border riding in northwest New Brunswick, it forms the "nose" of New Brunswick, tucked between New Brunswick and Maine. It includes Baker-Brook, Clair, Lac Baker, Saint-François- de-Madawaska, Saint-Jacques, St-Hilaire, Verret villages, parish of Madawaska, excluding city of Edmundston. LIB: 1991, 1987, 1991. PC: 1982,1978,1974. Redistribution:The 2006 redistribution adds the parish of Sainte-Basile from the electoral district of Madawaska-la-Vallee. In the 1995 redistribution, this district kept all the existing riding except for about 400 voters (one poll and part of another), which moved to Edmundston. It gained from Madawaska Centre - the eastern half of the old riding - part of St Joseph Parish (five polls, about 1,200 voters).Political History:
